Maybe you USED to be able to do them but have lost the strength, or maybe you gained weight and now feel as if you’re too heavy—or maybe both! Totally understandable. The problem with pull ups and chin ups—especially as we grow older—is that there are SO FEW movements that we do on a daily basis that mimic the movement of a PULL UP or a CHIN UP, which means that we’re rarely (if ever) STRENGTHENING the correct MUSCLES needed to keep our pull ups and chin ups in check.
