Here’s a delicious protein snack that packs a punch!

Balancing its cinnamon-maple-syrup sweetness is the fire of black pepper and white pepper! And it’s super healthy and entirely plant-based!

Here is the ingredient list and method of preparation:

INGREDIENTS:
Extra firm tofu (1 block)
black pepper
white pepper
salt
corn starch
Grade A maple syrup

TO MAKE:
(1) Mix spices:
2 parts black pepper
2 parts white pepper
1 part cinnamon
1 pinch of salt

(2) Tofu Preparation:
– Cut 1 block extra firm tofu (pre-pressed to rid excess water) into cubes or wedges.
– Completely dust each piece of tofu with corn starch.

(3) Cooking:
– In a lightly-oiled pan over medium heat, sear all sides of tofu pieces (turning occasionally)
– Sprinkle spice mix onto all sides (turning occasionally)
– Drizzle maple syrup over tofu and coat all sides. The syrup will quickly caramelize.
